Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation (GOGC) Climate Strategy Assessment In the framework of the Technical Assistance Project in Support of the Georgian Energy Sector Reform Programme

EnTC has provided experts who led the strategic dimension of GOGC’s climate alignment process, delivering both technical analysis and capacity-building activities. A dedicated workshop was conducted to introduce GOGC’s senior management and technical teams to the principles of climate scenario analysis. Building on this foundation, we have prepared core sections of the draft Strategy Report. These include the development of two illustrative climate scenarios, one aligned with a delayed transition pathway and another reflecting an accelerated decarbonization trajectory. The scenarios were assessed in terms of their business implications for GOGC’s core operations, particularly in gas transmission and power generation. The analysis also yielded a set of strategic recommendations to enhance business resilience, ranging from adjustments in long-term capital planning to the gradual decarbonization of GOGC’s asset base. Furthermore, the expert ensured that GOGC’s evolving strategy is grounded in national and international policy frameworks by mapping scenario outcomes against Georgia’s updated NDC targets and the sectoral milestones articulated in the NECP and LEDS.
