Technical Support to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to Formulate Jordan Energy Sector Strategy JESS (2025 – 2035)

As the Principal Energy Systems Modelling Expert for the formulation of the Jordan Energy Sector Strategy (JESS) 2025–2035, we will play a critical role in leading the modelling and analytical processes that underpin the strategy’s development. Leveraging extensive experience with the TIMES model and deep expertise in energy systems planning, we will coordinate the preparation, calibration, and scenario development of the national TIMES model to support evidence-based policy decisions. This includes updating model inputs in alignment with new data, and incorporating emerging technologies such as electricity storage, e-mobility, and green hydrogen production. We will ensure methodological consistency across scenario analysis, cost distribution, and target setting, while also supporting integration with other modelling platforms as needed. In collaboration with national stakeholders, we will assess the impacts of various energy pathways on affordability, security, and decarbonization targets, and will guide the refinement of strategic and technical recommendations. Through active participation in workshops and validation sessions, we will ensure transparency, knowledge transfer, and institutional ownership of the modelling framework, culminating in the delivery of the finalized TIMES model to MEMR for ongoing strategic use.
