Technical Assistance for Enhancement of MENR’s Heating and Cooling Capacity, Türkiye
As part of the project we will play a central role in developing a robust methodological and analytical framework to assess energy saving potentials and support forward-looking energy efficiency planning. Specifically, we will contribute to the design and implementation of a needs-based methodology for estimating energy savings and GHG emissions reductions, tailored to Türkiye’s national context and aligned with its energy balance structure. This will involve the specification and development of a dedicated software tool capable of modelling and quantifying potential energy efficiency gains across various sub-sectors, including both supply and demand-side applications. The Expert will support the integration of this methodology into the broader TIMES modelling framework, ensuring that energy efficiency projections and savings calculations are coherently embedded within Türkiye’s energy system scenarios. Through close coordination with project stakeholders and national institutions, the Expert’s work will directly inform strategic decision-making and policy development for the heating and cooling sectors.
